Half Moonshine

Moon hangs at half mast

Mourning the coming end of carefree summer days

Filled with endless blue sunshine skies and shape shifting clouds

Waxing moon awaits the turn of seasons’ pages in the book of nature

Shadowed moon hides in the darkness gradually moving across the sky

Awaiting the chance in weeks to come to reveal its whole heavy yellow self in greeting the fall harvest

Alas it waits patiently as everyone below its bright light delights in the finale of summer
