Yearning

She walked along the Multicolored crunching path

Beneath the golden canopy

Wrapped in layers

Red and green

Orange and yellow

Lengthened shadows at just that time of day

When sunlight

Ripples through the falling leaves

Dapples everything in that certain light

That happens only this time of year.

Her heart ached

An inexplicable yearning

She wound her way toward the harbor

Misty layered blankets

Faded islands

Gradients of blue

From bay

To mountain

To island

To perfect cloudless sky

She found what she was longing for

Solace

Solitude

Serenity
